The environment for our home game against the Dolphins last week was crazy. There were a lot of Charger fans but there were a lot of Dolphin fans in the stadium as well. It was a weird sensation to think that our home stadium was split 50/50.
After our loss to Miami everyone is held accountable. We don’t put a loss like that on any one guy. We as an offense should have made more plays. We should have never left it up to a field goal at the end of the game. We had some possessions where we got down in the red zone but we didn’t score. We have got to put ourselves in better position to win by getting points when we get deep into the red zone.
I do feel like our offense kept up a fast pace all game long. That went a long way in keeping their defense off balance for most of the game. The Dolphins had a really solid defensive line that made it difficult to run on, but I feel like our line did a great job of opening up holes for me which made it easy to run.
The loss was definitely bittersweet for us since we also got to watch Antonio Gates break the record for most touchdowns in a career by a tight end. I am so proud of him. I could not be more happy for him and I am honestly amazed to see what he has done over the course of his career. I feel honored that I got to be a part of such an amazing moment.
